The girls were growing testing in the back seat. A leg over the armrest, a push, a series of small slapping noises and then a wail erupted from Kami.
I knew we needed to stop for a break.
Suddenly like a mirage, an oasis, the bright red and white striped awning of Salt and Straw's push cart caught my eye.
I looked for the nearest parking space a pulled the car over.
The pictures tell the rest of the story.
The cart is located on 33rd and Division and they say they will be there for the rest of the summer. Their new future permanent space sits directly across from the cart but right now just looks like a large hole in the ground.
Long car ride + testy children on the verge of an all out slapping war NEED ice cream.
We had the red velvet x2 (at this age I only ever by two of the same thing or more slaps will ensue) . The ice cream was pretty much as delicious as it sounds, creamy with large chunks of red velvet cake.
We all walked away with sticky hands and Kami with a sticky neck.
