A summer day

My sister is visiting from Sanfrancisco. We all love it when she comes to town.
She is sweet and witty and loads of fun to be around. Being the oldest with a knack of re-telling the simplest events and spinning them into a facinating story she always regals a captive audience.

Back in the day before there were loads of little kiddos running around all my sisters and I would run about town whenver she came, eating, browsing and having a jolly time.

Now we don't have to think twice to know that totting a passle of  sticky fingered toddlers around on a scorching day is no one's idea of a fun time.

Phone calls were made and we all decided to head out to my parents farm to spend the afternoon.

I stopped at the Woodsman Market on se Division on my way.

Sandwiched between Stumptown Coffee Roasting and the Woodsman Tavern this tiny little market is stocked with lots of good things to eat and drink.

A tasty array of jams and pickles, honey and little packets of cashews, olives, oils, crackers and sauces are all displayed on shelves and crates .

Behind the counter the walls of white subway tile hold rolls of butcher paper waiting to wrap up a wide rage of cured meats and artisan cheeses housed in two glass cases. Spicy copa anyone?

They have a small selection of fun magazines: Anthologies, Kinfolk, and Diner Journal to name a few and I picked up a copy of the new Gather magazine.

We had a fun afternoon but alas little Kami was afraid of her Auntie Jen and wanted me to hold her the whole time. I didn't end up snap any pictures of our lunch due to a lack of free hands but it was yummy.
