A summer Sunday to remember.
Today was toasty. We decided to head out to Mcmenamins Edgefield for an afternoon of relaxing, it was just what we needed after a busy week.
We ate hot tots and drank cold beer.
We walked the rows of the beautiful vegetable garden which appears to effortlessly spring from the ground. The vines were laden with berries, beans, and squash. There were dark purple tomatoes, shiny eggplant, plump sweet onions, and little green tomatillo lanterns hanging in the sun.
The girls ran and tumbled on the grassy lawns their cheeks growing rosy pink, their hair damp with sweat. They gobbled blackberries and Ximena spotted a little brown bunny.
There was a large porch with a row of rocking chairs. We sat, and rocked, and sipped, and passed the time. The girls watched as a bride posed for pictures then she was hurried indoors by her bridesmaids.
Summer time.
