We pulled off the big room move yesterday and the girls seem to be taking it in stride.
So far no protests in regard to a lack of personal space have broken out .
They took their morning nap together and woke up happy.
Two good signs.
When we went to put them down last night Kami began crying she seemed a little scared to be going to sleep in another room. I wanted to grabe her out of her crib and snuggle her but did not, doing so typically leads to more crying and drawn out bed times. Instead I quickly dashed out.
We live in a three bedroom house and both girls have had their own room up to now. This has worked out just fine and dandy. However I have had this notion in my head from the beginning that they will be best friends and of course share a room.
I grew up with six sisters and at one point five of us were in one room. I have many fond memories of playing, fighting, and conspiracy with my sisters in our room. Our room was our space and when we were up there we could talk and just be ourselves in a way we were not outside of that door. Because of my experience I have always wanted my girls to share a room at least when they are little and this seemed like the perfect time to do so.
Some of our family from Mexico is coming to stay with us for a couple weeks in August and we needed a guest room. Commence operation room move.
I am watching them waking up right now on the monitor. I can hear Ximena whispering to Kami, "Kami wake up, wake up Kami".
There goes my morning peace and quite, time to put on the coffee and carpe diem!
